Funeral service for Harold Leon Rodrick, 57, of Paradise Valley Community, north of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Apache Cowboy Church, north of Porter Hill with Paul Lutz, officiating.



Burial will be at Paradise Valley Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.



Mr. Rodrick died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in Caddo County, North of Lawton.



There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.



Leon was born on January 16, 1952 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Roy Leon and Genevieve (Hilliary) Rodrick. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1970 and received his Bachelor's degree of Science in Business with a minor in Math and Health and Physical Education from Cameron University in 1975. While attending Cameron, he played baseball for the Aggies. He taught school and coached in Carnegie, Elgin, Medicine Park, Tomlinson Junior High, and Lawton High School. After his retirement in 2006, he later began teaching at Cement and was presently at Sterling. He also owned and operated Paradise Valley Tractor Service. He married Janis Buttram on May 26, 1972 in Lawton. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, NASCAR, men's slow-pitch softball, family time, the outdoors, and was the captain of Deer Camp.



He is survived by his wife, Janis, of the home; three daughters and two sons in law, Rachelle and Stacey Hunt, of Wharton, Texas, Kristie and Steven Bolan, of Paradise Valley, and Jenna Rodrick, of Edmond; his grandchildren, Nick Sillett, of Loveland, Ohio, Jordan, Blair, and Payton Hunt, of Wharton, Texas, and Gavin Bolan of Paradise Valley; his father and step mother, Roy and Lois Rodrick, of Cordell, Oklahoma; his brother and sister in law, Roy Lee and Shari Rodrick, of Paradise Valley, his step bother and sister in law, Rab and Mona Hewes, of Paradise Valley; his aunt, Gervasia Ann Leatherbury, of Paradise Valley; his mother in law, Ima Jean Buttram, of Lawton, his sister in law and brother in law, Linda and Roger Van Dervort, of Lawton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and aunts, and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his mother, and step father, Genevieve and Radford Hewes; his grandmother, Gervasia Hilliary; his deer camp buddy, Andy Bolan; and his father in law, Kenneth Buttram.
