Mrs. Dusty Strange of Elgin attended the Elgin 7th grade graduation ceremonies held at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 18 in the Elgin gym to watch her daughter Amber and classmates received numerous academic honors.

Mrs. Virginia Nunley of Sterling attended Baccalaureate services held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Sterling First Baptist Church for Sterling High School seniors. Seniors received a rich blessing in the message provided by Bob Blair, interim pastor and the Bibles provided to each Senior by the church membership.

Miss Kailee Wright of Medicine Park did a great job emceeing the 2010 Elgin graduation ceremonies held in the Coliseum of the Great Plains in Lawton on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Mrs. Janelle Burkham of Fletcher stopped by The Chronicle office on Tuesday to get two copies of the Thank You notice from Kathryn Miller on her surprise birthday celebration.

Miss Kasey Plumbtree of Sterling was honored to have her Aunt Jean Griffin and cousin Emmalee of Houston, Texas watch her participate in the 2010 Miss Tiger competition Saturday night. Also, Kasey appreciates all the work by pageant organizer Andrea Hardzog in making the annual pageant a huge success for the twelfth year!

Mr. Earl Millen of Elgin stopped by The Chronicle office to comment on the progress he is making building vacation bible school props for his church, First Baptist Church in Lawton.

Congratulations to Miss Carly Snider on her marriage to Anthony Todd Morris.

Mrs. Rita Duncan of Sterling is currently undergoing chemotherapy and we wish her a speedy recovery.

At the Sterling sports banquet held Thursday, May 13, 2010, Mr. John Morgan was presented with a special memoriam award in honor of his father who passed away this year. Mr. Morgan’s father attended every Tiger baseball game and is greatly missed.

Elgin agriculture teacher, Mr. Jerry Renshaw, is retiring after 27 years in the education field. He has brought national recognition as a gold emblem chapter to the Elgin FFA and his input and leadership will be sorely missed.

Elgin’s Ronnie Walker stopped by The Chronicle office to say that his daughter, Jamie, and her family will be moving to Elgin once they finish building their home.

Sterling school superintendent Julie Poteete said that her husband, Tim, is recovering from a second round of poison ivy.

The Christian Constitutional Conservative Republican candidate for the Oklahoma Fourth District House of Representatives, Jeff Pritchard, stopped by The Chronicle office Tuesday, May 18 to introduce himself and explain his platform which he has posted on his website: www.jeffpritchardforcongress.com
